School Has Started

School started again last week! Haley was very excited for her first day and did wonderfully!

Saying "Hi" to her teachers at orientation!

Kyleigh had as much fun as Haley!

Kyleigh waits patiently, hoping she'll get a turn!

Yes!

Pictures from her first week!

Park

Haley has been wanting to do the monkey bars on her own for quite a while. Just this weekend she made some great progress! Oh..and ignore my crown and jewlery...she needed me to "hold" it! :)

So cute!!

Swimming Videos

We recently purchased an underwater case for our flip camera (FYI...$30 on Amazon and so worth it!). Paul had fun taking video of Haley practicing her swimming this evening at our apartment's pool. About 2 hours later we were in the doctor's office with an ear infection! :( She was so worn out from swimming that so slept through the entire exam in the office and then went right to bed when we got home! She will be devastated when she wakes up in the morning and finds out she can't swim for a few days!

Swimming Ribbon!

Haley completed her first level check in swim lessons today! Here she is posing with her ribbon! She has become quite the fish this summer and she spends every possible minute in the pool with Paul! She has learned to swim out to us, and can also jump in the pool and turn around swimming back to the wall! She is sooooo proud of herself!

The Last Hurrah!

Well, just before summer ended (that's right, I went back to work today) we took a quick trip up to our friends' cabin in the mountains. We took very few pictures, so here are the couple we do have!

Vince and Haley getting a ride around the lake

Just Chillin'! Poor Kyleigh has three molars coming in right now (and the fourth looks close behind) and has not been a happy camper!!

Summertime Biking

One of our favorite things to do this summer has been to go on family bike rides! Paul got me a new bike and a child seat for my birthday in early June, and ever since we have enjoyed rides when we can.

Don't let the girls' sour faces fool you :)...they love it!

On a different and random note, I was talking to Haley's teacher on the phone today and Haley was insistent upon talking to her. They had a very adult conversation...it was hysterical! Anyways, eventually Haley curled up in bed to finish her conversation. Is this a preview of the teenage years??? You should have heard the tears when it was time to hang up the phone!!

The Apartment Sandbox

This is what you do when your kids really want a sandbox, but you don't have a backyard!! (Actually, we now have 2 of them because the girls really want to sit in the "sandboxes" while they play!")

And when they're done...I can put the lids on, roll them away (they have wheels!), and sweep the sand off the balcony!

Haley even had to have lunch out by her new sandbox!

Fun Stuff

I saw these "flip-flop" cookies in a magazines so we just had to make them!

"Cool Kyleigh"

Haley making "Shrinky Dinks"...remember those?? I don't have pictures of the final products because apparently there is an art to baking them! Who knew!

Camping...Again!

So, I broke down and agreed to go camping one more time this season. My parents, as well as my brother's family, were all camping at the lake for a few weeks, so we decided to join them for the weekend since Paul needed to work. The daytime was great and the girls had a blast! Nighttime...well, I don't want to relive it again!! Kyleigh had a terrible night, even though the temperature stayed warm this time! Oh well, here are pics from the trip!

It was almost 100 degrees outside so everyone enjoyed swimming in the lake! We spent a lot of time out there!

We also enjoyed some kayaking!

Kyleigh's life jacket was really uncomfortable, so she had to stay close to shore! Haley on the other hand was so relaxed she could hardly keep her eyes open!

Card games with Grandpa

Time to fish! Haley was really excited for this and asked all day if she could start fishing! Of course it didn't last very long when she realized how uneventful it was. She was sure she would get a fish right away!

The nighttime sky...amazing!!
