Haley's Preschool Christmas Play

Last Friday Haley had her Christmas Performance at school. It was adorable!! Haley played Mary and her little buddy Anthony played Saint Joseph. Haley was full of life and doing great for the first half of the play, and then she hit a wall!! She decided to toss Baby Jesus back into the manger and she was done! She just sat there the rest of the time! Eventually, towards the end, she took her shoes off and laid down! At the very end, St. Joseph went up for a bow without Mary who was not going to cooperate! :( Too bad because she did a beautiful job during the dress rehearsal that they put on for the rest of the school!
Later that night, she unfortunately got very sick and was throwing up. We would like to think that was why she acted like she did, but in reality, we all know...that's just Haley :) She only performs when she wants too!!
We will post the video soon! It's a little shaky, but you'll get the picture!

Apparently, Anthony and Haley were attached at the hip every time they dressed up as Mary and Joseph!

Santa Train

Last weekend Santa visited our town on the train! What a thrill! Haley was blown away and very happy that she was able to give him a high-five when he got off the train!

Santa

This evening we took the opportunity to visit Santa! Both girls were uncertain at first, but Haley warmed up very quickly. She immediately said, "Hey Santa. Hey Santa. I would like a 'Hairplane' for Christmas." So, then we decided to let the girls sit without us. Haley was fine. Kyleigh cried, but then realized he had a cool beard that she could touch :)

Birthday Party!

Last Sunday we had a joint birthday party for the girls with a bunch of friends. It was a "Ballerina Party," hence all the tutus!

Testing out the tutus :)

Instead of a real pinata, we decided to use a "pull-string" pinata since we were dealing with mostly 2 and 3 year-olds! There are about 20 strings attached to the bottom, and each child is supposed to take a turn pulling a string. Only one string will opened the pinata. Well, as luck would have it, Haley went first and pulled the right string!! Luckily, there was toy blocking the opening, so we let few more kids pull strings and then I stuck my hand inside the pinata and emptied it! The kids could care less who pulled a string, they just wanted the "goods!" :)

Happy 1st Birthday Kyleigh!

Today was Kyleigh's 1st Birthday!!!!

The day started off at Haley's school for her Thanksgiving performance...too cute! She did a great job (and Kyleigh LOVED it!!)

This evening we had the family over for dinner and cake!

Haley, Anthony and Dominick

Giuliana

Ellen, from Paul's work, made this gorgeous princess castle cake for Kyleigh!!! It was HUGE hit! Thank you Ellen!!!

Kyleigh is a very proficient and fast crawler but doesn't seem to want to walk. She can pull herself up and walk along furniture, but is still very unsteady in her feet if she lets go!

Here's a picture of Haley on her 1st Birthday...same hat!!

Kyleigh hardly ate any! She mushed it all over her tray and put a couple pieces in her mouth, that's all! This is as dirty as she got!

I can't believe one has has already passed! I remember this day last year as though it was yesterday! For those of you who don't know, the day before Kyleigh's birth was kind of a funny/eventful day! We were all anxiously awaiting our new arrival (she was a few days late at this point) and Paul headed out for work that morning of the 24th. He was nervous with anticipation, plus coming down with some sort of flu, so he ended up coming home sick that afternoon. He slept most of the day and we though he was feeling better! Well, that night, about an hour after we went to bed, Paul woke up sick as a dog and began to throw up. For all of you who have been around me when I'm pregnant, you know I have a very weak stomach during those 9 months! So, what do I do... after hearing him, I run to the other bathroom and start throwing up myself...it was quite comical (I even remember thinking so at the time)! Well, sure enough, about 30 minutes later I was in labor and within the hour at about 1:00 am we were in the hospital 5 cm dilated and moving very quickly! The epidural slowed things down for bit, but then, when my water broke at 5:30 am, it was only a matter of 25 minutes until our beautiful angel came into this world! The first thing the doctor said was, "Wow, she can CRY!" I told her that was nothing...she ought to hear her sister :) " Here are some pictures from this day last year!!

The doctor who delivered Kyleigh (Dr. Coleman was home with sick kids in the middle of the night), and our wonderful nurse!

Haley cried when the doctor took Kyleigh out of my arms to examine her :(
